Like a Dragon’s Ichiban Has A Lot in Common with Naruto

KEY POINTS

  • Both Ichiban Kasuga and Naruto Uzumaki had challenging upbringings, but they never lost their kindness.
  • From modest beginnings, both characters ascended to tremendous success and realized their aspirations.
  • Both Ichiban and Naruto are naturally good at making close friends and gathering allies for their respective missions.

Surprising parallels exist between Naruto, the ninja protagonist of his own series, and Ichiban Kasga from the Like a Dragon series. There are more parallels between Ichiban and Naruto than just appearance. They are both heroes with untidy hair. Ichiban’s character has been further developed in the last two Like a Dragon games, which have also made some noteworthy comparisons between him and a well-known shonen manga character. Considering how much Ichiban’s love of Dragon Quest shaped his personality, the comparison is amusing. For whatever reason, both ended up being rather similar heroes in the end.

It was always going to be difficult to follow the legendary Kazuma Kiryu of Like a Dragon as the protagonist, but Ichiban Kasuga has shown that he is capable of doing so. He has been a dependable new protagonist for the games, representing the series’ genre transition from beat-em-up to turn-based role-playing games. In contrast, Naturo, who led his own series from the start, has handed the reins to his son Boruto for the follow-up. Their individual skill sets also differ greatly. Ichiban is a very tough man with street fighting experience, while Naruto is a highly accomplished ninja with magical powers.

Ichiban and Naruto Are Two Heroes Who Had a Lot to Prove

Both Ichiban and Naruto were abandoned children.

Their early years clearly have similarities to both Naruto’s and Ichiban’s ascent to prominence in Like a Dragon. For various reasons, they were both raised as misfits and were unaware of their parents. When Naruto was a kid, the Nine-Tailed Fox killed his parents. As a result, he was raised alone in the village and developed into a prankster. After his birth mother was forced to leave him, Ichiban was reared in a soap opera, where he was ridiculed by other kids and finally turned into a resentful teenager. Despite their challenging upbringings, neither one’s ultimately excellent personality was diminished.

Both Ichiban and Naruto Overcame Difficult Beginnings to Reach Incredible Success

They both overcame adversity to achieve remarkable feats. Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s side content saw Ichiban take a failing candy store and grow it into a huge business that Infinite Wealth affirmed was successful all over the world. Apart from that, he became known as the Hero of Yokohama after being a homeless ex-yakuza. Similarly, Naruto would finally fulfill his aim of rising to the position of Hokage, the respected head of Leaf Village. At the beginning of their journeys, each of these accomplishments would have seemed nearly unthinkable, but they overcame great obstacles to realize their goals.

Ichiban and Naruto Are Naturally Good at Creating Strong Bonds

When things go tough, Ichiban and Naruto both demonstrate the capacity to gather allies and friends. By the end of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Ichiban has an incredible number of party members. Ichiban’s magnetism and valorous demeanor alone are enough to win him over and win them over to his way of fighting. Because of his juvenile behavior, Naruto’s classmates initially thought nothing of him, but as they frequently fought together, he was able to build close ties with them. Naruto has changed by the end of the series from the lonesome, friendless youngster he previously was.

Though they came from different backgrounds and experienced distinct adventures, Ichiban Kasuga and Naruto Uzumaki have a lot in common. Though Ichiban’s heroic heart isn’t quite as big as Kiryu’s, he has demonstrated that he has a similar heart to the earlier protagonist. Naruto developed from a youthful jester to the righteous head of his community, much like Ichiban demonstrated his abilities. They both began with little and went on to become the victorious protagonists in their respective tales. That Ichiban from Dragon’s had a trip akin to a shonen feels natural.
