Elden Ring players can use a secret medallion to explore Consecrated Snowfield in the lower Mountaintops of the Giants.
As soon as you step foot in The Lands Between, Elden Ring welcomes you with a breathtaking view of the Erdtree from the relatively tranquil Limgrave. But these verdant, luxuriant settings are exclusive to our region. As one sets out on their adventure, they will quickly come across the flooded woods of Liurnia, the rotten fields of Caelid, and the bright lands of the Altus Plateau, which lead to the freezing mountaintops of the Giants. It’s possible that many gamers are unaware of another icy area in Elden Ring that is kept tightly hidden.
Nestled on the lowest level of the Giants’ Mountaintops lies the Consecrated Snowfield. To reach Miquella’s Haligtree, where players may face Malenia, one of the game’s most formidable and recognizable bosses, one must first get access to this region. Players must gather all half of the Haligtree medallions and select the Secret Medallion option at the Grand Lift of Haligtree in order to get to the Consecrated Snowfield. This opens the Haligtree’s Hidden Path, which ultimately leads to the Consecrated Snowfield. This is a comprehensive tutorial that will help you get both Haligtree Medallions and get to Elden Ring’s Consecrated Snowfield.

How to Obtain Haligtree Medallions’ Right Half
Towards the beginning of the game, the right half of the Haligtree Medallion becomes available. Players must speak with Albus, an albinauric hiding in the Village of the Albinaurics beneath the hollow plateau southwest of Liurnia of the Lakes, in order to obtain the correct Haligtree Medallion. From the Liurnia Lake Shore site of grace, go east until you get to a toxic marsh beneath a large plateau. This is the settlement. Head to the Village of the Albinaurics grace location, then make your way past the opponent known as the Depraved Perfumer to find Albus, who is dressed as a pot. The pot’s radiant halo makes it easy to identify.
Hit the pot to see Albus, looking scared at first and begging for forgiveness. Following another dialogue, he will give the players the right half of the Haligtree Medallion and instruct them to guard it and give it to Latenna. While it is not required, opting for the latter gives players access to details regarding the game’s second half and, after finishing Latenna’s questline, a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
How to Reach Rold’s Grand Lift
The Sol Castle on the Mountaintops of the Giants is home to the left half of the Haligtree Medallion. Players must first be able to access the Grand Lift of Rold in order to get here. Only when players have vanquished Morgott the Omen King may they use this lift. Once you’ve defeated Morgott and faced Erdtree’s rejection, lie down at the Elden Throne grace spot to get the Rold Medallion from Melina. Go to Leyndell’s Avenue Balcony, a location of elegance, and ascend the steps on the south side. To get to a large door, use the path that leads northeast. To find an elevator, open this door and walk past all the misbegottens and perfumers.
After using the elevator, go directly east to locate another elevator that will transport you to the Forbidden Lands. Navigate this region safely in order to locate the Grand Lift of Rold. A boss of the Black Blade Kindred will swoop down on you right before the lift. Just brush it off and make your way to the Grand Lift of Rold grace location. Once you’ve rested at the grace site, you may start your hunt for the left half of the Haligtree Medallion by using the Rold Medallion at the lift to get to the Mountaintops of the Giants.
