Date of release for Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.42
Every month, GT7 upgrades are often released with new races, vehicles, and improvements to the quality of life. With the addition of Weekly Challenges, races against Sophy AI, and a new snow track to play on, November’s Spec II update was more significant than others.
With Polyphony bypassing December in favor of giving free gifts to returning players during Christmas, this was the final update for 2023.
Gran Turismo 7 might not receive monthly upgrades in 2024, as Polyphony is already working on the next game. Gran Turismo 8 is currently under production. Creator of the series Kazunori Yamauchi stated that future GT7 updates could be more dispersed and that monthly releases weren’t planned in an interview with GTPlanet last year.
The Gran Turismo 7 update 1.42 release date has not yet been disclosed by Polyphony. However, previous reports indicate that it should arrive in late January. Update 1.42 is expected to be published on Thursday, January 25, as most GT7 upgrades arrive on the final Thursday of the month.
What to anticipate from the 1.42 Gran Turismo 7 update
We anticipate a minor upgrade this month following the significant changes brought forth by Spec II. We may anticipate at least a few new vehicles to be driven, one of which has already been confirmed.
Other vehicles have not yet been revealed. We’ll learn more when series creator Kazunori Yamauchi posts a vehicle silhouette teaser image on X, previously Twitter, the weekend before an update.
In addition, we anticipate that the first update for GT7 in 2024 will include new World Circuit races and GT Café menus to finish in the single-player campaign.
Since Spec II included the Lake Louise snow track, version 1.42 is unlikely to bring any new tracks. However, we’re expecting that additional vintage courses like Autumn Ring, Midfield Raceway, and Apricot Hill will make a comeback to GT7 in 2024.
We’ll update this page as soon as Polyphony announces any news on Gran Turismo 7 update 1.42, so check back soon.
