The second FF16 DLC extension is much more significant than the first; however, a few players might require help sorting out some way to begin The Rising Tide.

Delivered about four months after its unexpected declaration at the 2023 Game Honors, The Rising Tide is the second of two DLC developments for Definite Dream 16. It sees Clive and his companions uncover the privileged insights of Leviathan the Lost, who, it just so happens, is significantly less lost than his name could somehow propose.

It’s a significantly more significant contribution than Reverberations of the Fallen, and undeniably less direct for sure, with the DLC likewise giving players a lot of extra side substance to dive into. Prior to any of that, however, Last Dream 16 players will initially have to figure out some way to begin The Rising Tide DLC in any case.

How to Start The Rising Tide (FF16 DLC)

Players must have finished the Where There’s a Will and Priceless side quests and unlocked the Back to Their Origin main story quest before beginning the Rising Tide DLC questline, since Joshua and Jill will be joining Clive on this new journey. If all goes according to plan, players can begin The Rising Tide by looking through the unmarked letter on Clive’s reading table at the hideaway. In doing so, players will see Rising Tide quest markers appear on the world map and will be able to take advantage of a trophy dubbed The Calm. Completing the enigmatic task will also initiate a cinematic.

To learn more about the letter that Clive received, players must visit Northreach for the first of these quest markers. When they get there, they have to talk to a person named Leyla, who points them in the direction of a beach camping site that’s located north of the town. When Clive and the group arrive, the campground is empty, but upon examining the tent, skiff, and fireplace, a new character named Shula will interact with them, leading to a rather long cutscene. After it concludes, players can journey to a brand-new region known as Mysidia, which is where the FF16 DLC really takes off.
