Only a handful of the many vests, chest pieces, and trenchcoats Remnant 2 offers appear to go nicely with practically every build.

HIGHLIGHTS

In Remnant 2, armor sets differ in appearance and stats based on the surroundings, providing players with a variety of resistances and looks.
Gamers may now concentrate more on mixing sets for tactical benefits, than utilizing resources to strengthen their armor.
resistance has onTo maximize body components in Remnant 2, consider the effect that each degree of armor or resistaresistance survivability.

modifiedTo be fair, though, since players no longer need to use modify materials to modify their armor, armor sets are far easier in this sequel than they were in Remnant: From the Ashes. Furthermore, it seems that this fundamental alteration was largely inspired by the notion that set bonuses were somewhat ‘too’ heavily rewarded in R: FtA. Nevertheless, there are still several advantages to wearing the fewest possible components in a mixed armor set. In Remnant 2, players tend to underestimate the extent to which a point of aresistancesistance affects survival. With that in mind, let’s discuss the top body parts in particular.

Updated by Jacob Buchalter on March 9, 2024: There are still a few that are better and several that are worse than previously, even though not many armor values have changed since this list was first posted. Given how many players are returning to Remnant 2 for the current corruption event (and crossplay update) in order to earn those corrupted weapons, this appears to be the ideal moment to discuss whose body armor looks to be the finest in the game once more.

Although ‘new’ armor hasn’t been added to the game since the Awakened King DLC, it’s probable that it will happen soon. For example, the DLC Bundle for Remnant 2 on Steam states that all three DLCs will be released no later than a year after the game’s launch. Given that the Awakened King’s release timetable is expected to be followed, the next DLC will probably be released within the next month or two. In light of this, let’s review every piece of body armor in the game and determine which would be ideal for mixed combinations.

Elder Rainment

Elder Raiment29.61204024

First up is the Raiment of the Elder Set, an armor set that can only be used during the first play of Remnant 2 if you own the Deluxe or Ultimate Edition. Because the Elder Set, Void Set, and Radiant Set were such well-liked armor sets in Remnant: From the Ashes, Gunfire Games’ producers decided to reintroduce them as edition bonuses for the sequel.

Fortunately, regardless of edition, there is still a method for players to access them in-game: after finishing the main campaign, they may purchase any one of these three sets from Whispers. The Elder Raiment weighs just 9 units, making it one of the lightest armor pieces in the game when it comes to stats.

Fae Royal Bodyplate

Heavy Armor Set

Fae Royal Bodyplate6026.443002

For those seeking a defensive alternative that puts armor before resistances, the Fae Royal Bodyplate is an excellent choice, increasing armor from the Elder Raiment by a whopping 30.4 points and adding 14.4 units of weight. Furthermore, at 26.4 weight, it’s usually ‘just’ barely light enough for players to remain in the medium weight class while wearing a combined armor set that contains this bodyplate.

Given that Gunfire Games essentially recreated this armor set for the Awakened King DLC, the whole Fae Royal Set is among the most visually stunning parts of the game.

Red Guard Plate

Crimson Guard Plate60.826.843002

The fact that Gunfire Games listened to their fanbase and allowed players to get the entire Red Prince Set in the Awakened King DLC rather than just the Crown is fantastic, but the armor itself—aside from the helmet—is essentially simply a recolor.

Beyond the primary color selections, of course, there is nearly a 1:1 ratio between the Crimson Guard Set and the Fae Royal Set. Even yet, the Crimson Guard Plate differs slightly from the Fae Royal Bodyplate in terms of mechanics; it is heavier and has slightly greater armor. However, a little excess weight now has even less of an impact than it did previously due to the modifications made to the weight class and stamina cost penalty, which makes the Crimson Guard Set an obvious choice.

Realmwalker Tunic

Realmwalker Tunic2911.632304

Overall, the armor offered by the Realmwalker Set is rather substantial, despite its somewhat modest size. Even though it only seems to be a green jumpsuit with a military aesthetic, Founder Ford consistently wore one of them. In particular, the Tunic, which has less armor than the Elder Rainment but shields players from the elements more frequently, is an example of something that trades some armor for a more evenly distributed set of resistances.

Space Worker Body

Space Worker Body2811.211420

In addition to the Elder Rainent, the Space Worker Set is another option that players most frequently employ to move into a certain weight class with little trade-off. This set is so similar to the Medium to Heavy Body Armor in Remnant 2 in terms of ‘Armor’ that it might pass for a space suit, and it’s also just as skin-tight.

However, its Shock Resist can be useful on N’Erud in particular or against very specific bosses or enemies; all things considered, it’s just’slightly poorer’ than the following Body Armor ranking on our site.

High Noon Duds

Medium Armor Set

NameArmorWeightBleed ResistFire ResistShock ResistToxin ResistBlight Resist
High Noon Duds47.119.604420

bodyAs one might anticipate, readers will observe that each succeeding Armor item is marginally better than the one before it as they move up in these rankings. Despite the fact that this may appear apparent, many rankings have far more number variances between each item. In any event, both Body Pieces have around a 2.5 Ratio for the amount of Armor they supply in relation to their Weight, despite the fact that it may appear that the Space Worker’s Body has a significant rise in bweightight and armor.

However, the thing that truly sets the High Noon Duds apart from the rest is how nicely they appear to mix in with practically any set of arbitrary armor components.

Zealot Overcoat

Medium Armor Set

NameArmorWeightBleed ResistFire ResistShock ResistToxin ResistBlight Resist
Zealot Overcoat45.218.832304

ratioThis isn’t Light Armor, despite how the Zealot Set appears to be. No, the Zealot Set is really Medium Armor, akin to the Losomn-exclusive Academic’s Set. Disregarding the advantages unique to the Awakened King, this entire set is still beneficial since, well, the Zealot Overcoat has a starmor-to-weightArmor ratio.

archetypeIn addition, it possesses other excellent resistances outside of its toxicity resistance. This makes sense, of course, as the Ritualist Archetype is associated with this set. This class (or dual-class, depending on the combination) is totally based on elemental damage and status effects.

Labyrinth Mantle

Medium Armor Set

NameArmorWeightBleed ResistFire ResistShock ResistToxin ResistBlight Resist
Labyrinth Mantle372004600

Players rarely notice this because they usually equip the Labyrinth Mantle with the rest of the Labyrinth Set, but this chestpiece resembles V’s Cyberpunk Jacket from all the Cyberpunk 2077 promotional material when the Mantle is equipped with some basic pants (such as the Survivor, Trainer, or Cultist Leggings). Perhaps it is simply the absurdly big popped collars on V’s jacket and the ridiculous LED light strip attached inside the Labyrinth Mantle.

Returning to the subject at hand, the Labyrinth Mantle, the Archon’s default body armor, is essentially the same as the other body armor in the Medium Set category. For instance, players only get around 4.8 more units of armor at the expense of 2.8 more units of weight when switching from the Zealot Overcoat to this. In addition, this mantle provides some excellent resistances against fire and shock damage, which are the elements that appear most frequently in Remnant 2, while some toxin damage may be found in the new Losomn locations in the Awakened King DLC.

Radiant Protector

Heavy Armor Set

NameArmorWeightBleed ResistFire ResistShock ResistToxin ResistBlight Resist
Radiant Protector6931.622401

Although it might seem a little unfair, the Radiant Protector’s exceptional numbers alone aren’t the sole reason it placed second; Deluxe and Ultimate Edition players can immediately obtain it. It is quite difficult for the player to die at all in the first few sections of the game (when the World Level is, at most, created at 1-3) when they have a heavy armor chest piece that gives an insane 69 armor and excellent resistance.

Of course, there are better alternatives than the Radiant Set later in the game. However, this armor set is genuinely too strong in the early stages of Remnant 2.

Leto & Leto MK II Armor

Ultra Heavy Armor Set(s)

NameArmorWeightBleed ResistFire ResistShock ResistToxin ResistBlight Resist
Leto Mark 1 Armor90.447.545555
Leto Mark 2 Armor88.845.234435

The Leto MK I and Leto MK II armor are ranked first, as anybody who has often seen players wearing these sets in multiplayer would naturally assume. It may sound absurd, but it’s really rather simple to get past the fact that when players wear both of these armor sets in their entirety, they are forced to heavy flop as a means of evasion since they are “Ultra Heavy.”

True, it may have appeared that the Leto Armor Sets would eventually be taken down a notch or two as a result of the modifications the developers made to several of the armor and weight systems in Remnant 2. To be honest, they did, but not quite to the extent that was likely anticipated.Although, happily, these two sets aren’t nearly as strong as they were prior to the modifications, they are still the greatest choices available for pure defense in all of Remnant 2’s difficulties.
