HIGHLIGHTS

  • Rocksteady prioritizes testing fixes for Suicide Squad updates, causing delays for players and fans.
  •  The game faced backlash for multiple delays, leaks, and live-service elements, impacting sales negatively.
  •  The developer commits to updates through 2024, including a new playable character in Season 1.

The next scheduled update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may take longer to arrive for players and fans of the game than anticipated. Developer Rocksteady reports that in order to ensure that the planned changes are prepared for distribution to the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League servers and clients, testing them is being prioritized.

Since the beginning of February 2024, when Suicide Squad launched, things have not gone well. Before the game was ever published, there was reaction due to several delays and leaks. After its debut, Suicide Squad’s reaction was lackluster due in part to viewer fatigue with the show’s overabundance of live-service components, which led publisher Warner Bros. to announce that the film’s sales were disappointing. Despite this, the game continues to draw in players, and its creator, Rocksteady, is determined to release all four of the game’s scheduled seasons of content by 2024.

Nevertheless, despite Rocksteady’s dedication, the Suicide Squad’s stability and new challenges are making it difficult for the group to release updates on time. A remark on the next patch was included in the patch notes for the Suicide Squad update released on March 1. The initial plan was for that patch to be live “next week,” which would have meant the week of March 8, 2024. There will be a delay in the patch, with no date set. It is necessary to test fresh updates because the second Suicide Squad patch brought a new problem that prevented certain gamers from making progress.

Rocksteady’s remark states that the team’s primary goal for March is the free Season 1 Update rollout. The Joker will be a playable character in the Suicide Squad Season 1 Update. For those who already play, it will also include new equipment, settings, and other exciting stuff.

Nevertheless, players won’t lose interest in Rocksteady if they want to see further problem patches. According to Rocksteady, the company is giving priority to fixing lingering multiplayer and login difficulties. A client-side patch will not be needed for the upcoming update, which will spare gamers from downloading more files in the hopes of seeing an improvement. Making sure that gamers can access the game should help keep the number of Suicide Squad players from falling even lower.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s poor box office performance and lackluster public response are unfortunate news, but it’s good to see that Rocksteady is still dedicated to providing regular updates for the game’s promised post-release features. If you’re enjoying Suicide Squad and thinking on playing it in the near future, you may at least relax knowing that the game will continue to be supported until 2024. Nothing hurts a live game’s chances more than indications that the developer won’t support it.
